Thick fog enveloped parts of the UAE on Monday morning, causing visibility less than 500 metres at times in many areas.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has urged motorists to take all precautions against possible fog formations and poor visibility.
The NCM reported early morning fog over Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, Abu Dhabi International Airport and other parts of the country.

In a statement issued late Sunday night, the NCM said visibility may be down to less than 1,000 metres at times over some coastal and internal areas during the period from 2am until 9.00am Monday.
Weather is expected to be partly cloudy in general and humid at night, with a probability of mist formation over some internal areas by tomorrow morning.

The wind will be northwesterly, with a speed of 15 - 25 kmph, reaching 38 kmph at times over the sea. The sea will be moderate but may roughen westwards by night in the Arabian Gulf, and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.
