With rainy season just around the corner, the Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has completed its preparations to prevent floods, ponds and blockage of the rainwater drainage networks.
Rainwater drainage networks in the mainland region — Mussafah, Al Maqtaa, Bani Yas, Shakhbout City and Mohammed Bin Zayed City — were upgraded at a total cost of Dh45 million.
The municipality has also developed an integrated plan for emergency situations resulting from rainwater and prepared a fleet of machines and equipment to deal with rain emergencies. The equipment includes; diesel and electric pumps, water tanks and electric generators to clear the floods from the streets and other areas.
Public requests during the rainy season will be addressed through a systematic process, added the authority.
