A new book written by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chronicles his childhood memories.
Titled My Little World, the richly anecdotal book shares the life-changing lessons Sheikh Mohammed learned from the different experiences and situations he had while growing up.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid recounts incidents and interactions in his early life that played a major role in shaping his outlook and values.

In his preface to the collection, the UAE Vice-President talks about his youthful eagerness to learn new skills and his indefatigable spirit of adventure, which helped him dream big. The stories aim to convey to young readers that “great dreams have no limit".
Millions of children in the UAE and Arab world will benefit from the five stories in the book that has been published by the Government of Dubai Media Office in partnership with Al Hudhud Publishing and Distribution.
The five stories are titled:
>> Camping with the scorpions.
>> My cave of treasures.
>> My first horse.
>> My friend, the lion.
>> My mother, like no other.
Written for children aged between 6 and 9, the collection introduces young readers to nature and desert wildlife with captivating stories that enrich their understanding of life. Designed to be compatible for use in the local education system, the stories seek to encourage reading among children.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the UAE Vice-President said: “My Little World ... my new book which I dedicate to all the children. Reading enriches our children’s minds and takes them on wonderful journeys to learn about our past experiences and lives."
The Government of Dubai Media Office said the book blends "engaging storytelling with keen observations about human relationships, learning, and the desert".
Director General of Government of Dubai Media Office Mona Al Marri said: "Through ‘#MyLittleWorld’, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum outlines the valuable life lessons he learned while growing up and the influences that shaped his character."
