A Dubai Police team has rescued a man who fell into an air vent in his building in Al Sufouh. The man was stuck at the bottom of the residential building's vent and sustained serious injuries in the accident, the police said.
"The rescue crew initially reassured the panicked man that he would be rescued. We then put a plan into action to extract him from the small, narrow shaft," the police said.

In a video posted on Facebook by the police, the team could be seen tearing down a wall.
The officers then used ropes and a stretcher to lift him to a room. Soon after, the police transferred him to Rashid Hospital via an air ambulance. His condition is stated to be stable.
Two lives saved last week
Last week too, the Dubai Police saved two men from dangerous situations. The police rescued a man stranded in the outskirts of Dubai and saved another man from drowning in the sea. The police was notified by the driver that his vehicle was stuck in the sands at Al Lisaili area.
A police Air Wing chopper started surveying the area in search of the man and his vehicle. The police also used the thermal camera to locate the man.
In another incident, the marine rescue team of Dubai Police managed to save a European tourist in his fifties, from drowning off the Kite Beach in Jumeirah area in Dubai, after he failed to swim in the strong current and became exhausted.
Lt Colonel Ali Abdullah Al Qas-eeb Al Naqabi, head of the marine rescue section at Dubai Ports Police station, said the command and control room at Dubai Police said: "A boat of the rescue section anchored near the area moved quickly after being informed of the situation, and the crew managed to fish out the tourist in just two minutes. He was given first aid and his health condition is fine."
Lt Col Al Naqabi urged beach-goers to take precaution and listen to the life guards regarding weather and wave conditions and rescue personnel team for their personal safety.
Once the red flag is raised, those in the water should stop swimming and avoid going into the water. There are nine marine rescue points that deal with emergency cases in different parts of the emirate, comprising divers, rescuers as well as manned-boats, water and amphibian bikes.
