The Sharjah Police have honoured a female employee working in Tadbeer for her honesty, as she handed over an amount of Dh10,000 which was left behind by a customer on her desk.
At the end of her shift, Mariam Mohamed Al Mahairi spotted the wad of cash under her desk.
She searched around for its rightful claimant, but in vain. She then handed over the amount to Al Garb Police Station as it was nearest to her office.
"After spotting the cash, I waited for a while, hoping that the owner would come back. When that did not happen, I went over to the police station," she said.
The police praised Maryam's honesty.
The police are now working with Tadbeer to find the owner of the cash.
