The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has issued a statement informing the public that all live domestic and wild ornamental birds, chicks and hatching eggs from Bulgaria are no longer banned in the UAE.

This revoking of the ban applies to thermally untreated products that had been imported from the provinces of Dobric and Haskovo.
The UAE had instated the ban based on a notification from the World Organisation for Animal Health about the registration of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the Republic of Bulgaria last October.
The MOCCAE had taken action preventing the importing of poultry meat and thermally untreated products and table eggs from the affected provinces.
It still allowed imports from disease-free areas located at a radius of at least 25km from the affected farm that included an export health certificate.
