UAE issues increased risk of death advisory for 4 drugs

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has issued a circular advisory on the use of four types of medicines. The manufacturer of the medicines has found the main substance to cause new health risks.

According to the ministry's circular, the four medicines have the active substance Febuxostat, which is used to treat gout.
The US Food and Drug Administration announced that using Febuxstat could lead to 'increased risk of death' due to heart problems.
The medicines - distributed in UAE by City Pharmacy Co. - are:
- Spimaco Addwaeh's Agout 40mg
- Spimaco Addwaeh's Agout 80mg
- Algorithm SAL's Adenuric 120mg
- Algorithm SAL's Adenuric 80mg
The ministry asked concerned authorities to prescribe the mentioned medicines only for patients who are not affected by the active substance (Allopurinol), but inform the patients about the side effects, including increased risk of death, before using the aforementioned medicines.
Additionally, the ministry urged all patients to inform the doctors if they have any heart problems or previously suffered a stroke.
The patients should seek medical care if they felt the following side effects:
- Chest pain
- Shortness of breath
- Rapid heart rate
- Sudden dizziness
- Fatigue
- Speech problems 
- Strong headache
