The Ministry of Health and Community Prevention issued a circular recalling the drug Jusprin (81mg) from all pharmacies and hospitals in the UAE.
The drug, made by Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries, Julphar, did not meet the health standards and guidelines of the Gulf Cooperation Council for pharmaceuticals.
All packets of the product must be returned to the supplier and taken off the shelves of pharmacies and medical establishments in the public and private sector.
Medical practitioners must refrain from prescribing or using the aforementioned product.
If you have used the drug and felt adverse side effects, please contact the ministry at 04 2301448 or at their email pv@moh.gov.ae.
Jusprin is used to reduce fever, mild to moderate pain from a headache, menstrual periods, cold, toothache, or muscle ache.
It is also used to relieve pain associated with inflammation of joints caused by rheumatoid arthritis or long-lasting degeneration of joints caused by osteoarthritis as well as reduce the risk of a heart attack or stroke in patients who have a history of heart disease or stroke associated symptoms.
