Health ministry announces visiting doctors programme for November

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) announced the details of its Visiting Doctors Program for the month of November 2018, to provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients.
Doctors participating in this month's program will be visiting Al Qassimi Hospital, Khorfakkan, Saqr, Shaam, Fujairah, Dibba, Kuwait, Obaidullah and Kalba Hospitals, to provide medical services in their respective fields of expertise. These include Cardiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatric Orthopaedics, Paediatric Neurology, Psychiatry, Endocrinology, Spine Surgery, Gastroenterology, Paediatric Haematology, Orthopaedics and Speech Therapy.
Under the program, the ministry brings visiting doctors selected from distinguished health institutions, universities, colleges and medical centers of highest international standards to provide their expertise in most medical specialties for the benefit of citizens and residents in the UAE.
These efforts are aimed at ensuring highest standards of quality and excellence in the services provided at the Ministry's health facilities, to support its vision to provide comprehensive and integrated health care services that exceed expectations, to ensure happiness of the society.
The program enables continuous training and learning opportunities for doctors and technical staff, in order to raise the level of national medical expertise. It also saves time and effort for patients who seek expertise from outside the state.
As part of the program, Dr Massimiliano Fusaro will be visiting Al Qassimi hospital from November 4-5, 2018. He is currently a Senior Physician in Cardiology and Chest Pain Unit at the German Heart Center Munich in Germany. He completed his medical graduation and Fellowship in Cardiology from the University of Verona, Verona (Italy). Dr Fusaro pursued specialization in Internal medicine at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Munich and attained additional qualification in Interventional Cardiology.
Dr Malek Nassar will be visiting Khorfakkan Hospital from November 4-7, 2018. He is an attending in Fetal Medicine at Clemenceau Medical Center and is the Director at the Clinique de Diagnostique Prenatal, Lebanon. Dr Nassar completed his medical education and Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Saint Joseph University, Lebanon. He pursued a dual diploma in Fetal Medicine and obstetrical ultrasound at the University Rene- Descartes -Paris 5 and the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelynes respectively. His specializes in Fetal Medicine.
Dr Robert Hill will be visiting Saqr Hospital, Ras Al Khaimah, from November 11-15, 2018. He is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children NHS Trust, UK. He graduated from the University of London. He then attained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, UK. His areas of expertise include, limb reconstruction, hip dislocation, club foot, limb lengthening, and deformity correction.
Under the program, Dr Hafeez Rehman will visit Al Qassimi Women's and Children's Hospital from November 11-12, 2018, and Al Baraha Hospital on November 27 and 28. He is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon at the Sunrise Hospital, Cochin, India. He completed his medical graduation from the Calicut University and pursued MD in Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the BJMC Gujarat University. His areas of expertise include, Laparoscopic Oncosurgery, Tubal recanalization, Laparoscopic surgery and pelvic floor repair.
Dr Matthew Tait is currently a VMO at the Macquarie University Hospital and the Nepean Hospital, Sydney. He completed his medical graduation from the University College London Medical School and pursued neurosurgery training at the Sydney (Royal North Shore Hospital) and London (Kings College Hospital and Atkinson Morely Wing, St George's Hospital). He has completed additional post-fellowship training in both areas: Complex spine surgery at Kings College London and cerebrovascular surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital and the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. His areas of expertise include, neurosurgical treatment of spinal disorders and treatment of diseases of the blood vessels of the brain (cerebrovascular surgery). Dr Matthew Tait will be visiting Fujairah Hospital from November 11-13 and Dibba Hospital from November 14-15.
Dr. Manoel Galvao Neto will be visiting Obaidallah Hospital on November 18-21, 2018. He is currently working as a Professor (Affiliated) of Surgery ABC medical School, Surgical Department at Santo Andre, Brazil. Dr. Manoel Galvao Neto graduated in Medicine at Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health in 1989, Bahia, Brazil. He pursued his Residency in Digestive Surgery and Digestive Endoscopy and Gastroenterology at 9th of July Hospital, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is currently pursuing PhD at the Federal University of Pernambuco. His areas of expertise include, Bariatric Endoscopy, Endoscopic Surgery, Endoscopy, Advanced Flexible Endoscopy and Gastrointestinal Diseases.
Dr Keon Hee Yoo will visit Al Qassimi Women and Child Hospital on November 18 and Fujairah Hospital from 19-20. He is currently a Professor, Department of Pediatrics, Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine. Dr Yoo completed medical graduation from the Seoul National University, College of Medicine, Seoul, and pursued Residency and Fellowship from the Seoul National University Children's Hospital and Samsung Medical Center, Korea. His areas of expertise include, Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Pediatric Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell, Transplantation and Mesenchymal Stem Cells.
Dr Antonio Colombo is the Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at San Raffele Hospital and Columbus hospital, Milan, Italy. He is also an attending Cardiologist at Stamford hospital, CT. He completed his medical graduation from the University of Milan and Residency in Cardiology from the University Post Graduate School in Cardiovascular Medicine, Italy. His areas of expertise include, Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart Disease. Dr Antonio Colombo will be visiting Al Qassimi Hospital from November 25-27, 2018.
Dr Tomonori Yano will be visiting Kalba Hospital from November 25-29, 2018, as part of the program. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Jichi Medical University, Japan. He completed his medical education and pursued a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Jichi Medical School, Tochigi, Japan. Dr Yano's areas of expertise include endoscopic treatments, inflammatory bowel disease and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP) in patients with altered gastrointestinal anatomy.
Dr Carl Fredrik is a bariatric surgeon at the Department of Bariatric Surgery at the Oslo University hospital in Norway. After completing medical school, he underwent training in surgery in Simrishamn Hospital in Sweden. He will be visiting Kuwait Hospital from November 25-29, 2018, as part of the Visiting Doctors program.
Dr Dominique-François Gazielly will be joining the orthopaedics team at the Fujairah Hospital on November 26 and Al Qassimi Hospital on November 25,27,28 and 29, 2018, at its Shoulder Center. He has dedicated more than 30 years of his career as an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in treatment shoulder injuries. He completed his medical school and Orthopedics training in Lyon, France, before specializing in the shoulder joint through trainings and fellowships in Canada and the US. Dr Gazielly has founded shoulder treatment centres in different parts of the world, including Europe and the Middle East.
Dr Stephanie Muh is currently a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Hand and Upper Extremity division of Henry Ford Health Systems, USA. She completed her graduation from the Drexel University College of Medicine and pursued Residency in Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Henry Ford Health Systems, USA. Her areas of expertise include, Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and joint care. Dr Stephanie Muh will be visiting Khorfakkan hospital from November 25-29, 2018.
Dr Justin Brophy will be visiting Khorfakkan Hospital from November 11-15, 2018. He is a consultant psychiatrist and clinical director in Newcastle Hospital and Co. Wicklow Mental Health Services in Ireland. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Medicine, Surgery, and Obstetrics from University College Galway. Dr Brophy is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is the former president of the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland.
Dr Husam Ghusn is currently a Consultant Endocrinologist and the Chief of Staff at the Ain Wazein Hospital, Lebanon. He completed his medical graduation and Residency in Internal Medicine from the American University of Beirut. He then attained Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Baylor College of Medicine. His areas of expertise include Diabetes Mellitus, Geriatric medicine, endocrinology and metabolism. Dr Husam Ghusn will be visiting Shaam Hospital from November 11-15, 2018.
Dr Lorenzo Azzalini will be visiting Fujairah hospital from November 12-14, 2018. He is currently a Consultant in Interventional Cardiology at the San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, Italy. He completed his medical graduation from the University of Padua Medical School, Padua, Italy and Residency in Cardiology from the Hospital de la Santa Creui Sant Pau, Barcelona, Spain. Dr Azzalini also pursued Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Montreal Heart Institute, Montreal, QC, Canada.
Dr Jean Fajadet is the Co-Director of the Interventional Cardiology Unit at Clinique Pasteur in Toulouse, France.  He obtained his medical degree and Diploma in Cardiology from Toulouse University Hospital.  His areas of expertise include the evaluation of new technologies in Interventional Cardiology. Dr Fajadet will be visiting Al Qassimi hospital from 18-22 November 2018.
As part of the program, Dr Rima Bader will be visiting Fujairah hospital from 18-21 November 2018. She is currently a Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric/Fetal Cardiology at King Abdul Aziz university Hospital, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She completed her medical graduation from the King Abdulaziz University, Faculty of medicine, Saudi Arabia and Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from the Royal College of Physicians of Dublin, Ireland. She has a Fachartz in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology from Germany. Her areas of expertise include, Pediatric/ Fetal Cardiology.
Dr Olivier Varenne will be visiting Al Qassimi hospital from Nov 11-15. He is a Professor of Cardiology and the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Cochin Hospital, René Descartes University, Faculté de Médecine, Paris. Dr Olivier Varenne graduated from the Kremlin- Bicêtre School of Medicine in Paris. He later attained a Diploma of Specialization in Cardiology from Université Paris XI.
Dr Shaima AlQattan will be visiting Fujairah Hospital on November 26, and Al Qassimi Women's and children's Hospital from 27 to 29 November 2018. She is a Medical Specialist in Speech and Language Pathology at the Shaikh Salem Al-Ali Centre for Audiology & Speech Therapy, Zain Hospital, Kuwait. She completed her medical graduation from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. She then pursued Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology and obtained PhD from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne UK.
