Drivers of such vehicles who continue to ply the city's roads in violation of this rule will be subject to a fine of Dh500 and four black points.
The measure stems from the leadership's keenness to protect lives and property and enhance traffic safety.
The Sharjah Police General Command called on drivers of heavy vehicles and trucks to fully adhere to the decision to prevent the movement of this category of vehicles during foggy weather.
The authority urged drivers to take the necessary precautions to achieve their safety as well as that of fellow road users.
