Starting October 21, you will have to dole out Dh10 if you take the help of a pump attendant to fuel your car at Adnoc gas stations across all the northern emirates. However, you can also opt to self-fuel your vehicle, if you wish to avoid paying the charge.
The elderly and people of determination have been exempted from the 'premium service fee' which will be enforced after five days in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.
Under the self-service option, you can follow a simple and safe process to fuel your vehicle on your own. Cashiers will be at hand to help if you are not sure of anything and need assistance.
Adnoc's rollout of the new 'Flex Service' across the northern emirates follows a free trial period of several months, in which customers had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the options.
Saeed Mubarak Al Rashdi, Adnoc Distribution's Acting CEO, said they will distribute 100,000 smart tags to customers to ease their self-service and 'premium' service.
"The 'smart tag' technology provides a world-class payment option that enables customers to quickly refuel and pay without using cash or bank cards." It is based on an RFID tag fixed to a vehicle to automatically trigger payment from the customer's pre-paid Adnoc Wallet, he added.
"The wallet can also be connected to other payment options, including the Emirates ID card or Adnoc Plus card."
Customers will now be able to take advantage of Adnoc Distribution's 'Premium Rewards' programme in the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman, he disclosed.
"For a fee of Dh10, an attendant will refuel your car, wash your windshield and check your tyres. In addition, 'premium customers' will also receive rewards that can be redeemed in Oasis convenience stores."
The 'Premium Rewards' programme is refreshed at regular intervals and offers customers giveaways and discounts on products and services, he explained.
"Current rewards include a 12-pack of bottled water (no cost), coffee (Dh10 discount), deals on snacks, and discounts on Adnoc lubricants or an in-station car wash."
The 'premium service' receipt is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase, he pointed out. "The rewards can be redeemed at all Adnoc service stations across the northern emirates."
App to get fuel delivered anywhere, anytime
ADNOC Distribution has also confirmed it is continuing to work on MY STATION, the home delivery option of Flex powered by ADNOC Distribution mobile app. No firm date has been announced for the delivery of gasoline to your doorstep but it is already possible for customers living in selected areas across Abu Dhabi to have LPG cylinders delivered directly to their homes and installed by ADNOC Distribution's certified team.
