The Sharjah Municipality has introduced an advanced system, that includes 185 new heavy and light vehicles and latest equipment, to tackle rain-related emergencies and other crises.
"The new vehicles will be added to the fleet of existing ones to provide best services to the residents," said Thabet Salem Al Tarifi, director-general of Sharjah Municipality.
He added: "The new vehicles will boost municipal services and keep pace with the rapid development of the transport sector. They will help carry out various civic works and businesses in different areas. The fleet is expected to speed up tasks and enhance quality."

Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, director of customer services department, said that the new fleet is another landmark achievement for the municipality as 2018 ends.
The new vehicles will be used in rain-related issues as well as in excavation, landfills, sanitation and other important works. They will serve different sectors of the municipality and contribute to the development of performance, efficiency, and quality of work.
Humaid Al Banna, director of transport department at Sharjah Municipality, said that these vehicles are considered a new addition to enhance the work efficiency. "The department is keen to train its employees and provide them with the necessary expertise to deal with these vehicles and use them as per the international standards," he pointed out.
