Motorists in UAE faced quite a few tailbacks and roadblocks on the first day of the week.

The roads heading from Sharjah towards Deira and Mirdif are having extremely slow-moving traffic.

The roads heading towards the Dubai International Airport experienced quite a few tailbacks. People planning a catch a flight this morning are advised to get to airport early in order to avoid any last-minute hassles.

The drivers in the areas around the Abu Shagara Park and the Cultural Square had been caught up in heavy traffic on Sunday morning.

Students heading to universities in Dubai's Academic City are advised to leave homes early as the traffic in the area is quite heavy and the students driving around the area might get caught and get delayed for their classes.
