Rain-washed road led a truck to skid and topple, causing cargo spillover along Al Shawamekh bridge near a junction on Sunday.
Patrols reached the spot immediately and cleared the road so that traffic flow was not hindered. The Abu Dhabi Police said that they have intensified patrols in the area to ensure better emergency response time.
Motorists have been urged to park in a safe zone to the side of the road to avoid congestion or accidents.
An alert has been issued to all drivers to exercise caution during rough weather conditions; leave sufficient distance between vehicles, and avoid sudden braking or swerving.
