The Ministry of Infrastructure Development, MoID, has confirmed that it will begin the traffic diversion work on Mleiha Road in the area of Al Suyoh area from Sunday October 22, 2017, to become three lanes towards Mleiha and two lanes towards Sharjah.
The Dh174 million project is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2018, is part of the initiatives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Eng. Ahmed Al Hammadi, Director of the Road Department at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, said that the aim of the expansion is to reduce traffic congestion and confusion caused by the density of vehicles as a result of the development project and raise the efficiency of the Mleiha Road.
He called on all drivers to exercise caution.

The project includes renovation work for the current road and its expansion to three lanes in each direction. The 42km road has a three-lane exit for those heading from Sharjah to Dubai, while the third part involves the extension of the current bridge on the Emirates and Mleiha Road from three to seven lanes.
