Two men were killed, and three others seriously injured when the car they were travelling in crashed into a lamppost in Ras Al Khaimah. According to Emarat Al Youm Arabic daily, the vehicle veered off the road at Al Dehaisa neighborhood before it crashed into the lamppost on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were aged 57 and 51. Brigadier Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, director-general of central operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the police were notified that five men were trapped inside a car after it crashed on Emirates Road.
Police patrols and paramedics were rushed to the spot. The driver was killed on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries at the hospital. One of the injured is in a critical state, while the other two sustained moderate injuries, the police added. "All motorists should be careful when driving on bends.
They should avoid speeding as it causes the vehicle to veer off the road," Dr Al Humaidi added. reporters@khaleejtimes.com
