This UAE car fine has been reduced by 50 per cent

Abu Dhabi - Motorists should be aware.

The Abu Dhabi Municipality has announced that it will be extending the deadline for owners of abandoned cars to repair them from seven days to 30 days. 
They also announced that the fine has been reduced to 50 per cent. 
They had announced on their official Twitter handle that this is an initiative meant to help people increase their customer satisfaction and happiness level.
It was only in September that the authorities in Abu Dhabi seized 242 vehicles that were deemed to be abandoned by their owners from the Musaffah and surrounding areas.

According to the Abu Dhabi Municipality, the confiscation was a result of an inspection campaign conducted in the area to combat "disorderly practices constituting eyesores to the appearance of the city".
