The Abu Dhabi Police has prepared a traffic plan aimed at intensifying the traffic monitoring through smart systems and deploying patrols on the roads leading to Zayed Sports City to facilitate the flow of traffic on the occasion of the Mass of Pope Francis on Tuesday.
According to the plan, which will start from noon to 6pm, vehicles will not be allowed to enter the area around Sheikh Zayed Sports City, and trucks and heavy vehicles (3 tonnes and above) and buses transporting workers through the Maqta Bridge and the Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Abu Dhabi, will not be allowed to enter from 1pm to 6pm. The traffic movement will be transferred to Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street in the area after the Al Maqta Bridge to the Al Jaweyah two-way air roundabout for a temporary period.
From 6pm on Monday till 6pm on Tuesday, entry of trucks will be banned in the Abu Dhabi island. 

From midnight, the roads around Zayed Sports City will be closed to all traffic. 
From 12 am on 6pm on Tuesday evening, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street and Saif Ghobash Street will be closed in both directions, the Department of Transport said on Sunday.   
The following parking lots have been identified for buses transporting participants to the event from different emirates: Al Bateen Airport's bus stops coming from Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Qaiwain and Ras Al Khaimah; parking lots of Sheikh Zayed Mosque, and the Ministry of Interior, have been allocated for buses coming from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.In preparation of Pope Francis' Papal Mass, road closures have been announced in Abu Dhabi from 6pm on February 4 until 6pm on February 5.  
Around 135,000 people are expected to gather at the Zayed Sports City for the Papal Mass on February 5.     
Access hubs
Buses that will ferry ticket-holders will start their trips from designated access hubs as early as 11pm on February 4 from Dubai and 1.30am from Abu Dhabi.
The access hub in Fujairah closes at 2am. The ones in Sharjah for St. Micheal's church closes at 3.15am and will ferry 12,375 people in 283 buses. At Jebel Ali, for the St Francis Assisi congregation, the hub will close at 4am and 11,615 people will be transported in 258 buses.
Four access hubs have been set up for Dubai residents and visitors: Safa Park, Wonderland, Al Qusais Pond Park and Al Nahda. Hubs will remain open till 3am.
The buses will also leave from the venue in an orderly, systematic manner once the Mass concludes. 
The Ministry of Education on Sunday announced a holiday for all public schools in Dubai and Sharjah to be observed on Monday. Additionally, Tuesday will be observed as a holiday for all schools across all emirates, the ministry said on it's Twitter handle.
