Abu Dhabi Police on Saturday issued no fines to drivers who committed minor traffic violations - instead only issued warnings.
In a Facebook video posted on Sunday, the police shared how they made drivers happy by issuing no fines on Saturday for minor traffic offences as part of an awareness initiative to celebrate the International Day of Happiness, which falls on March 20.
The video shows two motorists who were stopped for changing lanes without an indicator and parking in the wrong place respectively.
A policeman is seen telling the drivers that usually these offences would incur fines of Dh400 and Dh500 respectively, but they were free to go with a warning since it was the International Day of Happiness.
Abu Dhabi Police used this opportunity to remind motorists to keep up their positivity on the occasion while continuing to abide by the road rules to contribute to safer roads in the UAE.
