The Ajman Civil Defence doused a massive fire that broke out on a diesel tanker on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street on Sunday. The blaze erupted after the tanker, with a capacity of 10,000 gallons, veered off the road and crashed into a pavement, a civil defence official said.
The official added that no injuries have been reported during the accident, as the tanker's driver managed to jump out of the vehicle.
The civil defence received a call at 9am informing them about a diesel tanker catching fire due to a road accident. The civil defense teams swung into action and rushed to the nearest Al Jarf fire station. The teams reached the accident site and cordoned off the area.
The fire fighting teams managed to control the blaze within a short time.
The site was handed over to the Ajman Police to complete the rest of the  investigation procedures and ascertain the cause of the fire.
