Al Ain Police has issued an advisory for motorists - as mercury rises across the country - about leaving their cars running while attending to errands.
Al Ain Police Directorate in the Criminal Security Sector department of Abu Dhabi Police has warned all motorists against leaving their vehicles running while shopping or fueling, as it makes it easier for thieves to steal it.
Colonel Mubarak Saif Al Sabousi, Director of Al Ain Police Directorate in Criminal Security Sector said that it is very important to never leave a car engine running, adding that some motorists even leave their children or infants in the car for hours.
Such acts endanger the lives of the children as they might suffocate due to the high temperature inside the car during summer time, he added.
