Motorists headed towards Ras Al Khaimah need to be on alert.
New radar devices have been installed along the road leading to Jebel Jais.
Ras Al Khaimah Police made the announcement, calling on all motorists to comply with designated speed limits, as per an Al Ittihad report.
Brigadier General Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, Director General of Central Operations at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said: "Police will monitor those who drive at excessive speeds, exposing themselves and other motorists to harm."
He added, "One method by which police help deter speeding is installing radars along the most vital traffic arteries of the city, or those that see the highest number of speeding violations. This includes the road leading to Jebel Jais."
He pointed out, "Jebel Jais road is in frequent use all year long, and footfall increases especially in winter, or whenever the season turns rainy or cold."
"With increased footfall, more police patrols are required," added Humaid. "Motorists should exercise caution whilst driving and follow traffic laws for their own safety."
He added, "Visitors come from far and wide as Jebel Jais is a tourist spot and offers many recreational services. Scenic landscapes and natural beauty attracts children, citizens, residents and foreigners alike."
"Ras Al Khaimah Police will apply the law strictly to all violators and maintain the integrity of lives and property for all visitors to this and other tourist destinations in the emirate," he concluded.
