Dubai's Al Yalayes Road, which has been waterlogged and closed since Monday afternoon, has been partially reopened, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has said. Residents of Dubai Investments Park 2 have been finding it difficult to enter the community from the Emirates Road.

Sherlyn Sierda, a resident, told Khaleej Times: "I was stranded for more than two hours on Monday night. No RTA bus was able to enter DIP 2."

The stretch between Emirates Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street has been affected due to the waterlogging, which is believed to have been from an irrigation line.

"To the users of Al Yalayes Road, please be informed that the road has been partially opened, after the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan St. roundabout, to provide additional entrance and exit points for Dubai Investments Park 2 residents, with a U-turn option for those who would like to continue back to Al Yalayes Road," the RTA tweeted on Tuesday.

The authority specified alternative roads such as Emirates Rd, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Rd, or Expo Rd "to reach their intended destination". "We would also like to assure that all the authorities concerned are working towards reopening the road fully as soon as possible," the RTA added.
