90 days to pay 50% discounted traffic fines

Abu Dhabi - The discount is applicable for all traffic offenses issued between August 1, 2016 and December 1, 2017

Abu Dhabi Police confirmed the 50 per cent discount for traffic violations, and for impounded vehicles, will continue for 90 days. 
In a statement released by the Abu Dhabi Police on Monday, officials said the 50 per cent discount, which began from December 2, is applicable for all traffic offenses issued between August 1 2016 and December 1 2017.
Last week, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, directed the Ministry of Interior to coordinate with the traffic and licensing departments across the country to slash all traffic fines by 50 per cent.
The initiative came in line with the 'Year of Giving' and in spirit of the 46th UAE National Day celebrations. 
The discounted fines must be paid within three months starting from the December 1, after which the full amount of the fines will be charged.
