Three Asians sustained critical injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in flipped over after hitting a metal barrier on the Emirates Road in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The trio are aged between 28 and 43 years.

"The truck overturned after the driver lost control over the steering wheel and rammed into a barrier," said Captain Hamad Ali Al Shehi, director of the traffic accident enactment and investigation, who was assigned to check the accident site at 1.15pm.
All the three Asian expatriates, including the 43-year-old driver, were badly injured, he added.
The trio, all of the same nationality, were rushed to the nearest hospital by the emergency team of the RAK Police.
"The traffic accident file was referred to the bodies concerned for legal action," Capt Al Shehi said.
Col Ahmad Al Sam Al Naqbi, acting director-general of the central operations room of the RAK Police, said the accident was caused by inattentive driving and use of mobile phone behind the wheel.
"Using cell phones while driving has been reportedly blamed for many deadly accidents recently. It is considered a violation, which comes with a fine of Dh800 and four black points," said Al Naqbi, who is also the director of the traffic and patrols department of the RAK Police.
Apart from playing games and talking on the phone while at the wheel, taking pictures or selfies, texting or putting on make-up are equally dangerous and distracting, he said.
