Three Emirati youths received serious burn injuries after the gas they were inhaling from a cigarette lighter caught fire in their car. They were inhaling the lighter gas at a parking lot in Sharjah's Wasit area on Tuesday.
On being notified about the explosion, the police rushed to the spot and found two boys aged 14 and 16, and a 26-year-old man inside the car. The car's glasses were completely shattered.
One of the teenagers received second-degree burns and was rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
A senior police official said the trio was inhaling the gas to get intoxicated. He urged parents to supervise their children and ensure their safety.
