His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the presence of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, received a message from Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, on Thursday.

Sheikh Mohammed, who received Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Dubai on Thursday, conveyed greetings to His Highness and ways to strengthen friendly relations between both countries, during a meeting with the minister.

Qureshi arrived in Dubai earlier on Thursday on a two-day visit to the UAE.

The UAE’s ambassador to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim and Ahmed Amjad Ali, consul-general at Pakistan Consulate in Dubai, and other senior officials from Pakistan and UAE met the foreign minister and discussed bilateral ties.

Qureshi’s visit to the UAE is aimed at strengthening ties with the UAE and other Islamic countries. During the visit, the minister will meet Pakistani community members.

Qureshi thanked the UAE for its cooperation in establishing hospitals and other development work in the country.

“Pakistan and UAE have good historic, cultural, economic and cordial relations. I am confident relations between the two nations will strengthen further in the coming times,” Pakistan’s foreign minister said at arrival in the UAE.

The UAE’s ambassador to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim said the ties between the two countries will grow stronger.

The UAE is home to second highest number of Pakistanis in foreign countries, estimated to be around 1.5 million.
