Sharjah Police are investigating a case in which five members of a Sri Lankan family threw themselves from the seventh floor of a hotel apartment last week.
The 55-year-old man, his 52-year-old wife and teenage son died in the suicide. However, the two daughters survived.
A top official at Sharjah Police said the police received a call and rushed to the incident site where they found the three members already dead. One woman was in a serious condition and while the other sustained moderate injuries. Police shifted the bodies to the forensic department.
The injured women were taken to Al Kuwaig hospital. 
Police said that the dead had been on visit visa and entered the county nine months back.
Police have launched an investigation and held a number of people for interrogation. The probe is still on to ascertain the cause of the suicide.
