Roads and parking lots worth Dh114.8 million have recently been constructed in Abu Dhabi to ease traffic and solve parking woes, authorities announced on Wednesday.
The Abu Dhabi Municipality said that as part of these infrastructure projects, new roads were built and old ones repaired; parking lots and service roads were constructed; intersections improved; and entry points to residential areas were created.
Besides ensuring road safety on Abu Dhabi Island, the projects were also aimed at keeping pace with the rapid growth and development in the Capital. Drainage networks that will collect rainwater were also built and a number of street lights were put up.
The goal is to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a modern city with an ideal infrastructure that meets international standards and specifications.
“Improving and developing roads and parking spaces also raises the commercial and real estate value in Abu Dhabi city,” said the municipality.
