The UAE leaders have posted inspiring messages as 2021 was announced as the Year of the 50th.
The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had announced earlier that the theme celebrates the UAE's 50 years of founding. It officially starts on April 6, 2021, and lasts until March 31, 2022.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said the country's first 50 years saw the fastest pace of nation building in history.
"(It was) the best development journey in the region. This is also a year of preparation for the next 50 years .. 50 years full of goodness ... an example of building hope for the region and the world," Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said the UAE looks "back on our achievements proudly as we embark on a new journey with determination and enthusiasm".
"Everyone in the UAE has the chance to reach their full potential, and together we will continue to shape new frontiers," he tweeted.
