2021 will be the breakthrough year for the UAE as it marks the 50th year of the country's union and the beginning of the next 50 years. This came in a stunning time-lapse video shared by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday.

The video shows the UAE's growth in the last 50 years from a desert land to the metropolis it is today. It then goes on to imagine the future of the country in the next 50 years.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid announced that he and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, will meet the members of the UAE Cabinet on February 23 and 24.
They will brainstorm ideas for the next 50 years.
“We want to accelerate our journey of development and improve the business environment. The future belongs to people that can imagine, design and implement it,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.
“50 years ago, the founders of the UAE designed our present, and we want to design the next 50 years ... to have better health, education, economy, transportation and infrastructure. And we want to share our story with the world.”
