Using the mobile bus court, a special team from the Abu Dhabi Labour Court and other officials went to the workers' accommodation and managed to settle the dispute "very quickly". The team ensured that all the workers' pending salaries were paid on the spot. Authorities did not reveal the number of workers involved in the dispute.
Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) said on Monday that it has conducted awareness campaigns targeting 22,000 labourers at the Workers Village in the Musaffah area.

The campaign is aimed at teaching workers about the UAE laws and their legitimate rights at work so that they are not cheated or mistreated by their employers. The educational lectures were presented in Arabic, English and Urdu, and provided an elaborative explanation on the provisions of the UAE labour law.
The awareness campaign is intended to provide legal knowledge to 250,000 workers across Abu Dhabi as part of the Year of Tolerance 2019.
Ahmed Al Marzouqi, director of internal operations and support sector and chairman of the labour awareness committee at the ADJD, said the campaign involves weekly visits to labour sites.
"During the campaigns, workers at various labour accommodations are being educated about the importance of abiding by the law, their rights around annual leaves, getting salaries on time, how to file complaints against their employers, end of service benefits and how to calculate it, among others. Officials also answer all questions and queries from workers," said Al Mazrouqi.
