The UAE on Sunday adopted a Union budget for the next three years with a primary focus on education and community development.

The Dh180 billion budget will allocate more than half of its funds to promote education sector and launch community development projects.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired the meeting to give a go ahed to the zero-deficit budget.

"Today I presided over a cabinet meeting in which we adopted Dh180 billion for the union's budget over the next three years," Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.

"About 59 per cent of our budget for education and community development. Our budget is no deficit. Next year's budget will be the largest in the history of the Union," the tweet said.
