The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has ordered funeral prayers in absentia to be offered on the soul of the late Kuwait Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah.
The prayers will be performed in all mosques nationwide on Thursday after Asr prayer.
Sheikh Sabah passed away at the age of 91 on Tuesday morning in New York.
He was buried on Wednesday at the Sulaibikhat Cemetery, the largest and main cemetery in Kuwait.
Sheikh Sabah's half-brother, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah, took constitutional oath and became the 16th Emir of Kuwait on Wednesday morning.
