Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, on Wednesday visited Dubai Statistics Centre as it topped the list of Dubai Government Employee Happiness Index for the year 2019.

Sheikh Hamdan also highlighted the importance of promoting the notion of teamwork among employees, to further enhance integration and effectively contribute in Dubai's development journey towards excellence and leading government work on a global scale.
"The confidence our leadership placed in human capital through developing and training them to keep pace with changes is bearing fruits, and positively contribute in developing work environment, which I have felt during my visit to Dubai Statistics Centre as their work environment topped the list of the Dubai Government Employee Happiness Index with 97.16 per cent for the 8th year, including 7 in a row, which reflects the ability to maintain accomplishments through relying on a task force and setting plans and activities that meet staff's expectations," Sheikh Hamdan said.
Sheikh Hamdan also emphasised the importance of creating a corporate culture that is the motor for creativity and helps staff to unleash their abilities. "Happiness in the UAE is not a one-time objective, but rather a lifestyle that we experience every day. As Dubai Statistics Centre won the first place, we look forward to a new phase of employee happiness and to set future plans and activities that is in line with their expectations and positively help develop a positive work environment," Sheikh Hamdan said.
During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan received the Centre's agenda and main accomplishments, and was briefed about future plans to ensure sustainability of employees' happiness.
Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied by Abdulla Al Basti Secretary General of The Executive Council, and Arif Al Muhairi, Executive Director of Dubai Statistics Centre.

Staff's happiness was gauged through a survey conducted as part of the the emirate's government excellence programme.
Dubai Statistics Centre scored the highest with a rating of 97.16 per cent, followed by the Dubai Public Prosecution (93.56 per cent) and the Dubai Police (91.95 per cent).
Overall, the happiness of the city's government employees was rated 85 per cent on average, the index revealed. The poll looked into four main indicators of happiness, with entities averaging above 80 per cent for each aspect: Job loyalty (86 per cent); positivity (84 per cent); job satisfaction (84 per cent) and functional harmony (85 per cent).
"It is very encouraging to see that the highest scores in the index were achieved for the job loyalty indicator. This assures us that we are on the right track," Sheikh Hamdan said last week.
"I invite all government departments to work together to achieve the goal of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to create the world's happiest work environment within Dubai government."
Sheikh Hamdan urged the government teams to use the index as a tool to develop initiatives that could further improve their staff's happiness levels.
The Dubai Crown Prince said the 10 departments that were ranked the lowest are expected to improve their working environments, with several procedures laid out to help them achieve the goal.
Last week, he also commissioned a new survey to evaluate the government's progress in creating a safe and supportive workplace amid the Covid-19 situation.
"The happiness of our employees is one of Dubai government's highest priorities. We have achieved considerable progress in realising the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to embed happiness as a core value in the workplace," Sheikh Hamdan said.
"Ensuring a happy workforce creates the essential foundation for teamwork and excellence."
