The Abu Dhabi government has developed a 'sustainable job creation system' for Emiratis as part of a recently announced accelerator programme called 'Ghadan 21'.
The system aims to create job opportunities, qualify and train job seekers, activate placement plans, and establish strategic partnerships with the private sector to boost Emiratisation.
This came as the Abu Dhabi Executive Council revealed details of 10 initiatives that will be launched as part of the 'society' pillar of the Ghadan 21 programme.
The Dh50-billion three-year development programme was approved last week by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Around 1,500 Emiratis have already been placed in jobs over the last three months, while over 3,500 immediate vacancies have been identified across government and key private institutions.
Targeted and specialised training programmes are being offered to harness and build the job seekers' capabilities and skills to match qualifications with jobs available.
Another initiative under the 'society' pillar is the setting up of six affordable private schools offering 15,000 seats by 2021. An additional 15,000 seats will be available in government charter schools by 2019.

A social investment fund will be created to support projects that will have a clear impact on the development of social services in the emirate. The Social Assistance Authority's mandate has been approved to provide financial and non-financial assistance to eligible families across the emirate, "ensuring quality of life for everyone within the community".
In collaboration with strategic partners, the authority will also develop activation programmes that will enable families to become financially independent. The authority plans to launch its first programmes in 2019.
In line with the emirate's plans to double the number of housing loans given to Emiratis to 5,000 per year, the government is working on providing 15,000 housing units in the next three years.
As part of a Dh3 billion budget, basic community facilities of the Khalifa, Mohamed bin Zayed, Shakhbout and Zayed cities are being upgraded, the executive council added. - Wam
