The Abu Dhabi Police said the command and control room at the central operations division received an information about the incident at 10.15am that a construction worker was trapped in a hole at Al Shawamekh area of Abu Dhabi.
Police said rescue teams, as well as ambulance crews were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The unidentified man, who sustained injuries, was taken to Mafraq Hospital for treatment.
