Worker dies in crane collapse at UAE construction site

Abu Dhabi - Three injured workers were immediately shifted to hospitals for treatment.

An Asian worker died and three others were injured when a crane collapsed in a construction area in Abu Dhabi's Al Raha beach.
The workers received moderate to serious injuries, according to statement issued by Abu Dhabi Police on Sunday.

The General Administration of Abu Dhabi police said that the incident was reported to the Command and Control Centre, after which police patrols, ambulances along with first responder teams were immediately dispatched to the location.
The injured were taken to Al Rahba and Al Mafraq Hospitals.
Additionally, Lt. Col. Ibrahim Ali Jalal Al Baloushi, Director of the Rapid Intervention Department at the Directorate of Emergency and Public Safety, called on owners of construction companies to provide workers with safety tools and equipment at work sites to ensure their safety.
He emphasised upon regular maintenance of cranes to avoid similar incidents.
