Ahead of Father's Day this year, IKEA has revealed that most dads (67%) in the UAE would prefer 'to spend more time' with their children over any material gift option.
According to a poll conducted by much-loved Swedish home furnishing retailer, less than one per cent of dads would opt for a new tie, an age-old Father's Day gift, and less than 10 per cent would choose a new gadget.
This heart-warming result reflects how dads in the UAE increasingly value their time playing with their kids. In fact, the results showed that fathers in the UAE believe that they spend more time with their children than their dads spent with them.
Nearly all (97%) fathers in the UAE spend quality time with their children and a large majority (44%) spend more than two hours dedicated to the kids each day. Despite this, most dads (88%) still yearn for more time to spend with them, and cite work and responsibilities as the main reason that stops them from doing so.
The result from IKEA's poll revealed that UAE dads aren't relying on costly activities either, choosing activities such as 'rough and tumble play', 'sports', 'cuddles on the sofa' and 'games' as some of the preferred activities with their kids.
IKEA has a range of toys and children's activities that can be enjoyed as a family, with great ideas for dads who want to spend more time with their kids this Father's Day and all year long!
