Earlier on Friday, Dubai Civil Defence successfully battled a blaze at the Creek - with royalty also present to monitor the operation.
Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the son of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, immediately reached the site of the Creek dhow fire on Friday evening.
A huge fire had consumed a dhow docked at Dubai Creek on Friday that caused thick black smoke rising up the Deira skyline. The fire broke out around 5.30pm and was immediately put under control, an official from the Dubai Civil Defence confirmed to Khaleej Times.

Sheikh Mansoor has participated in several fire fighting operations in Dubai, including the Dubai Marina operation in 2017 and a fire in Al Quoz.
One of the firemen at the Creek operation also thanked the young royal for being present at the site:
