The Egyptian 19-month-old baby girl, who fell from the 10th floor of a building in Ras Al Khaimah, earlier this month was air lifted from the Saqr hospital to the Twam hospital in Al Ain on Wednesday morning, according to informed sources.

"The ambulance chopper was fully equipped with all medical gadgets needed, along with a well-trained medical team."

The condition of the young girl, identified as Leen M., is still critical, they added. "She is still in a deep coma, but hopefully will survive."

The young girl sustained several serious injuries all over her body and bled excessively, according to medical sources at the Saqr hospital.

"The young girl luckily fell on the rear windscreen of a white Toyota saloon car parked in front of her building, exactly under the window of her bedroom."

Though the glass of the windscreen minimised the impact of the young girl's fall, she was seriously injured, they added.

"The 19-month-old girl was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Saqr hospital in RAK on Sunday night around 11.15pm."

The young girl is still in a critical condition, they added.

"She received the necessary first aid, following which she was subjected to an urgent operation on her stomach to stop any internal bleeding."

She was then shifted to the Obaidullah Hospital for more advanced scans, they said.
"She was returned to Saqr hospital for treatment and medical care," the sources added.

The distraught father said he was buying some stuff for his family from a nearby supermarket when the tragic fall happened.

"Her mother was busy preparing our son's backpack when she quietly sneaked on top of a new sofa, which was placed under the window."

Her mother panicked when she saw her reaching the edge of the window, and rushed to save her, but our daughter slipped," he added.

"She called me while screaming for help as she ran to the ground floor."
The distressed father said he was staying in a small apartment with his wife, six-year-old son and the daughter.

"I bought that sofa bed just two weeks before the mishap."

"My mother is on a visit visa and I was sleeping on that sofa so that she can use my bed."
