UAE leaders offer  Eid Al Adha prayers, receive well-wishers

Dubai

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday morning performed Eid Al Adha at the Shaikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Mosque in Zabeel.

Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance; Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Government of Dubai Land Department; Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group Shaikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Shaikh Hashr bin Maktoum bin Juma, Director of the Dubai Department of Information, a number of Shaikhs and a group of worshippers, also performed prayers alongside Shaikh Mohammed.

Shaikh Mohammed and the worshippers listened to a sermon on good conduct delivered by Al Shaikh Dr. Omer Al Khateeb. He said Allah urges Muslims to stick to good manners and do good deeds. He quoted Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as saying “I was sent to complement morals.....”

Al Shaikh Al Khatib and Imam underscored that the Eid festivities have many meanings, including the introduction of joy and happiness to the hearts of relatives and people, especially children and orphans, as well as slaughter of sacrificial animal to draw closer to Allah almighty.

He noted that Allah calls for solidarity in general and during Eid festivities in particular.

Al Shaikh Khateeb prayed to Allah to bestow his mercy on the souls of Late Shaikh Zayed, Shaikh Rashid and Shaikh Maktoum. May almighty Allah rest their souls in eternal peace.

He also wished well to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid, and more prosperity, and sustainable security to the UAE.

Abu Dhabi

General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Saturday morning performed Eid Al Adha prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Shaikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler‘s Representative; Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Lt. General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Shaikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy National Security Advisor; Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Shaikh Dhiyab bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Shaikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Shaikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs(ZHO), Deputy Chairman of Etihad Airways; Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, performed their prayers alongside Shaikh Mohamed.

A number of Shaikhs, senior civil and military officials, Arab and Muslim members of diplomatic corps, citizens and residents also performed their prayers.

Counselloer Ali Al Hashimi, Religious and Judicial Adviser at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, delivered Eid sermon in which he thanked Allah for his blessings on pilgrims, citing the teachings of Islam that ensure happiness. He noted that “Eid Al Adha revives the memory of the sacrifice that Allah had plagued Ibrahim ‘peace be upon him’ with. This unique incident in the history of mankind demonstrates a testament to the beauty and grandeur of the obedience and trust in Allah Almighty.”

Al Hashimi underlined that Eid Al Adha “is a suitable opportunity to forget disputes, and shake hands and exchange visits. It is an occasion in which we live in a grant divine of Almighty Allah, and a chance for believers to worship Allah in happiness and serenity.”

He added that the biggest feast day will be when the unity of Arab and Muslim countries becomes a reality, and divisions disappear and replace by solidarity, tolerance, compassion and cooperation, and sincerity in worship.

Al Hashimi asked Allah for mercy on soul of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, wishing well to The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Members of Supreme Council; Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Crown Princes, and more progress to the UAE.

After the prayers, Shaikh Mohamed and Shaikhs visited the tomb of late Shaikh Zayed, where they read ‘Al Fatih prayer) on his soul. May almighty Allah rest his soul in eternal in peace.

Shaikh Mohammed met before his departure the Eid canon team. He exchanged Eid Al Adha greetings with them. They expressed their satisfaction of meeting and exchanging Eid greetings with Shaikh Mohammed. The team wished well to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and to the UAE leadership and people as well.
