The UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a cable of condolences to President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, expressing sympathy over the deaths of the massive fire that broke out on a moving train in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province Thursday.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, sent similar cables to President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
On Thursday, at least 74 people were killed and dozens injured after cooking gas cylinders exploded on a train packed with pilgrims in Pakistan, some dying after leaping from carriages to escape the inferno, authorities said.
