The UAE Ministry of Education announced that some schools will be closed on Sunday (April 14) following inclement weather conditions.
The ministry made the announcement on its official Twitter handle on Saturday evening. According to the ministry's tweet, schools are given the decision on whether or not to suspend classes. Additionally, the ministry added that closures are dependent on the road conditions leading to the schools.

Areas such as the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain road, Al Dharfa, Fujairah, Sweihan as well as the Hatta area in Dubai experienced rain this morning. The National Center of Meteorology had earlier warned sea-goers in Arabian Gulf against potential convective clouds formations associated with rainfall.

NCM had also forecast thunders and fresh to strong winds, with a wind speed of 60 km/hr at times. NCM urged motorists to take all precautions and avoid driving in valleys and in areas where rainwater accumulates.
