Philippines' largest carrier, Cebu Pacific (CEB), once again offers 25 kilograms of additional free baggage allowance to UAE residents travelling from Dubai to Manila.   Starting March 1 until Nov 30, 2018, all passengers originating from Dubai travelling to Manila with pre-purchased baggage allowance of 40 kilograms will be receiving additional 25 kilograms baggage allowance, free-of-charge.*
The extra baggage allowance will be given upon check-in of the guest at the airport.   It has been a tradition for Overseas Filipinos to bring food or gifts, known as 'pasalubongs', from their destinations to their families and friends back home. Many Filipinos ship a 'balikabayan' box filled with gifts several days ahead of special occasions or ahead of their travel to the Philippines and wait for 30 to 60 days for the box to arrive. Sending such boxes costs Dh 115 to 379 for shipping alone. With CEB's promo, boxes can now be loaded on the same flight and arrive in the Philippines at the same time.
Candice Iyog, Vice President for Marketing and Distribution of Cebu Pacific, said: "CEB has always been committed to offering the best innovations for its valued passengers. We believe that this special promotion will enable all our UAE passengers travelling from Dubai to maximize their trip to the Philippines. This is also an added benefit for our UAE-based 'kababayans' who work hard for their families, giving them the opportunity to bring more gifts and 'pasalubongs' for their loved ones, at no additional cost."
A 40-kilogram baggage allowance on Cebu Pacific costs between Dh320 and Dh340. Passengers, even those with connecting flights to other Philippine domestic destinations operated by Cebu Pacific, will get the advantage of the additional 25 kilograms being carried over up to their next flight, as long as their flight itinerary is booked under one reference number only. This promotion is not valid on return flights from the Philippines to the Middle East, and on bookings with Cebgo connecting flights.
With the special offer from Cebu Pacific, passengers who travel from the UAE can take their 'balikabayan'boxes with them on the same flight, given that such boxes pass the regulations set by the Dubai Airport**, without having to wait and while saving on the costs of shipment. Last year, many UAE-based Filipinos travelling from Dubai enjoyed the same promotion as Cebu Pacific ran the special treat in time for the Philippine Independence Day.   CEB currently offers flights to a total of 37 domestic and 26 international destinations, operating an extensive network across Asia, Australia, USA, and the Middle East.
Its 61-strong fleet is comprised of 36 Airbus A320, eight Airbus A330, eight ATR 72-500, and nine ATR 72-600 aircraft.Between 2018 and 2021, CEB expects delivery of 7 Airbus A321ceo, 32 Airbus A321neo, and 7 ATR 72-600 aircraft.
For bookings and inquiries, passengers can contact Cebu Pacific's General Sales Agent either in Dubai (Al Rais Travel & Shipping Agencies LLC at +971 4 354-5777), or in Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi Travel Bureauat +971 2 610-5211 or +971 2 633-8700).
