Abu Dhabi teachers can now resign their jobs, switch to another school or seek promotion online through a new electronic system launched by education regulators in the emirate.
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) said it has created the Private Abu Dhabi Schools System (Pass), with the motto 'every school, every educator deserves to pass', in order to ease day-to-day functionalities of potential and existing schools and educators.
Using the new online system, teachers can apply for transfer to another school, resign their jobs or apply for promotion.
Teachers abroad, who are looking for a job in Abu Dhabi, will also be able to apply for a particular position through the online system.
The initiative by Adek is part of Abu Dhabi government's participation in the 38th Gitex Technology Week.
"The system also allows schools to renew their licence online with limited or no documentations required due to Adek's unified platform and linkage with various government entities," said Adek officials.
"The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge is keen on providing innovative, efficient, fast and proactive technologies that not only continue to achieve a fundamental transformation, but also help implement a quality focused shift in the way government services are offered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi."
Adek said its technology projects also offer transparent, smooth and accessible services to end-users and stakeholders.

New portal for private school investors

Adek has also announced the launch of an investors' portal during Gitex 2018, to assist investors in taking informed decisions with regards to establishing private schools in the emirate.
The newly designed electronic platform offers various features that have been specially designed to support investors in taking informed investment decisions through offering transparent and updated information on student distribution across the emirate.
The platform works as a one-stop-shop for investors, offering a dashboard with pivotal details on private schools such as students travelling in and out from various districts, a comparison between enrolments and capacity and more. Investors may also filter schools by curricula, region or a specific city.
"In line with a sustained growth of student enrolments in private schools along with the population growth rates projected over the next few years in Abu Dhabi, private school investors are offered attractive investment opportunities with transparent information as well as population numbers in each school and district," said  a statement from Adek.
"Adek also provides extra assistance and support to investors while deciding to set up their new private school premises through allocating an educational land or building subject to the availability of land and consistent with demand. Therefore, a list of available land and buildings are provided with detailed information such as the type of land, the exact status of the land."
Potential investors are also offered a step-by-step illustration with regards to licensing and establishing new schools. This include conducting a feasibility study, understanding the requirements and the licensing process and applying online; ensuring there is a Musathaha agreement which consists of a signature from both Adek and the Department of Urban Planning and Municipality once the educational land is allocated; obtaining governmental approvals and Adek's temporary licence in order to start constructing and operating the new school.
