It was deja vu all over again for Khaleej Times as it bagged some of the top titles during the Digital Media Awards 2017 on Wednesday.
Young Times, the popular title that was brought back to life in January 2018, picked up the award for 'Best Innovation to Engage Youth Audiences'. And taking gold for the 'Best Data Visualisation' was the 'KT Value-Added Tax (VAT) Calculator'.
Held in Dubai on the first day of the 13th edition of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) Middle East Conference, the awards bear testimony to the persistent efforts of Team KT in being at the forefront of not only offering latest news and information to our audience, but also an innovative and creative platform to advertisers.
Noted as one of the biggest talking points of 2018, VAT has impacted everyone from the individual consumer to big businesses. KT's VAT Calculator, which went live late in 2017, continues to act as a handy guide for the need-to-knows about how VAT impacts you.
According to WAN-IFRA, while honouring Young Times, the factors that were taken into account were innovative design, and high engagement with its young audience.
Strong content quality, consistency in user experience and evidence of the publishing company's commitment to offering value to readers and advertisers, were all part of the stringent criteria employed by the WAN-IFRA judging panel to choose the winners.
