The 49 Emirati artists, who have been tasked with designing the UAE Nation Brand logo, on Monday started their work on what they described as "the biggest project of their career".
Selected from all seven emirates, the team called 'Inspiring 49' came together for a huge brainstorming session at the Dubai Design District.
The workshop will generate a total of 14 'directions' with general ideas. Basic sketches of the logos will also be submitted.
Though the date of the logo's launch has not yet been announced, officials said it shall be released before the end of 2019.
The Inspiring 49 workshop was opened by Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future.
Big day for the UAE
"It is a historic day for everyone here. It is difficult to gather the UAE's achievements in one logo, but we have remarkable artists who can do it," Al Gergawi said.
"The visual identity of the UAE Nation Brand will leave a lasting impact for the next decades and will be celebrated by generations to come."
During the workshop, the artists focused on seven critical values: Giving, openness, innovation, tolerance, credibility, social cohesion and futuristic vision.
Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met the seven teams - during their brainstorming sessions.
"This rich gathering of homegrown talents is inspiring to witness. It is a representation of the UAE's creative industries working collectively to create a unified national brand identity that will depict our story to the world and represent our journey as a nation, our achievements and our ambition," Sheikha Latifa said.
