Showcasing the "most important products developed by the police", a team of Dubai Police exhibited their innovative safety and security products at the ongoing defence exhibition Iin Abu Dhabi.
"It was important for Dubai Police to take part in this year's Idex, because this is a one of a kind event that focuses on security and defense developments," said Captain Humaid Sultan Bin Dalmouk, head of technical support - explosives security department, Dubai Police.
He pointed out that each department of the Dubai Police includes creative and innovative clubs of up to 30 members, who simply like to step-up their game and come up with new ideas, innovations and strategies that are later translated into real-life product. This creativity helps create a safer environment for the people of the emirate.
"We created an autopilot drone, which is used to keep an eye out on large groups of people at public events, including sport events, festivals and concerts."
"Every day there is a new event taking place in Dubai, so we believe the drone helps such vast public spaces be safe and secure."
He noted that the Dubai Police logo itself helps ease any tension or fear when spotted by residents.
"When people on the field see the drones with the Dubai Police logo, they automatically feel safe."
"We are also displaying the 2D and 3D training for snipers, as well as the 'Event's Security Committee" application, which has all the information about the events in Dubai that people can learn about - by a simple touch from their smartphones."
First Sargent Azza Abdullah Al Sehhi, Dubai Police, said the Dubai Police have also come up with a motorbike that includes an innovative helmet, which is connected to an application that allows the driver to gather real-time information from the operation centre.
"We connect with our team while driving the bike and wearing this innovative helmet," she explained.
