A Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICIPA) patrol located at 12pm on Monday a number of fishing boats entering the territorial waters of the UAE, north west of Sir Bu Nair Island.
The coastguard boats attempted to stop the fishing boats, but they did not obey orders.
The CICPA reported that three pursuit and support boats were deployed to the scene of the crime, where it was confirmed that eight illegal fishing boats were there.
The UAE's boats attempted to stop the fishing vessels, but they did not obey orders and therefore rules of engagement were applied.
